About Alex Ruggles

I am currently on the Swisslog Healthcare AI Committee to help navigate company policy regarding AI.

When did you start working at Swisslog Healthcare?

I started in May 2025.

What is your expertise?

— Cybersecurity
— Vulnerability Scanning
— Digital Forensics Investigations
— Penetration Testing
— SIEM Correlation Querying

What particularly fascinates you about your job and the healthcare industry?

My job is never boring because cybersecurity is always changing, which means I must always stay on top of new cyberattacks and vulnerabilities. Healthcare is a major target for attackers, particularly for ransomware and service-impacting attacks. This gives me a strong sense of accomplishment in helping defend hospitals against bad actors, as these attacks would affect patient care. People are typically in hospitals for health reasons, and they do not need to add cyberattacks to their hospital experience.

What are the milestones in your professional journey?

I have worn many hats in cybersecurity, starting in T1 Incident Response and working my way up to T3 roles that include SIEM Admin and Lead Security Engineer.

What is something personal you'd like others to know about you?

I have a huge Lego collection. I traveled to Lego HQ in Billund, Denmark, during my honeymoon. I have gotten my wife into building and collecting, and I am currently waiting for my daughter to become old enough for her first Lego set.
