Swisslog Healthcare Donates More than 870 Pounds of Food to Food Bank of the Rockies

Colorado business serves community members affected by food insecurity through local partnerships

May 8, 2024

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (May 8, 2024) –  Swisslog Healthcare, a global industry leader in pharmacy and transport automation solutions, held a food drive in April for National Volunteer Month benefiting the Food Bank of the Rockies. The company collected 874 pounds of food, nearly 700 items, at its headquarters in Broomfield.

Food insecurity in the greater Denver area is an ongoing problem, and as the cost-of-living increases, the number of people seeking food assistance is also rising. The Food Bank of the Rockies provides necessities like food to individuals in need by partnering with local organizations like Swisslog Healthcare to serve the community.

“This food drive demonstrates Swisslog Healthcare’s commitment to its local community in Colorado by supporting the missions of organizations like the Food Bank of the Rockies, which seeks to nourish people facing hunger,” said Desha Holmes, Internal Communications & Corporate Events Manager at Swisslog Healthcare.

Last year, Swisslog Healthcare collected and donated more than 300 pounds of food to A Precious Child, an organization dedicated to serving local children and families. This year’s food drive nearly tripled previous efforts.

Establishing community-based initiatives like this food drive reflects the dedication of our workforce to making a difference and supporting those in need,” added Amanda Costanzi, Head of Marketing and Communications, North America at Swisslog Healthcare.

Swisslog Healthcare has also recently launched a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Program, encouraging employees to choose charities they are passionate about and volunteer their time in return for paid time off from work. All Swisslog Healthcare employees in North America will receive one fully paid day off of work to dedicate to volunteer activities within their local community.
