Swisslog Healthcare encourages community volunteerism through VTO program
BROOMFIELD, Colo. (November 20, 2025) — Swisslog Healthcare, a leading supplier in transport and pharmacy automation solutions, assembled 72 employees from its Colorado offices to prepare 6,751 bags for Food Bank of the Rockies. The volunteer effort supported the distribution of 40,506 pounds of produce for those experiencing food shortages, as community support needs have increased.
As families face heightened food insecurity linked to the federal government shutdown and delays in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit distribution, community partners rely on volunteer support to meet demand. Swisslog Healthcare’s team stepped up to help accelerate the flow of fresh produce to families, children, and seniors who need immediate assistance.
"When our community faces challenges, Swisslog Healthcare employees respond with action that creates real impact for Colorado families," said Desha Holmes, Global Internal Communications & Marketing Operations Manager, Swisslog Healthcare. "Every bag we prepped represents a family that will eat this month, and that's the kind of direct community impact that defines who we are as a company."
This work strengthens a vital safety net and shows how employers can bolster local hunger-relief organizations during periods of heightened need. The volunteer effort reflects Swisslog Healthcare's commitment to community service through its Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Program, launched in 2024. The program gives employees a paid day off to volunteer at charities they care about, allowing them to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
"The VTO Program creates meaningful opportunities for our employees to contribute their time to causes that strengthen the communities where we operate,” said Cory Kwarta, CEO of Swisslog Healthcare. “The results from this initiative prove that when we create space for service and make it easy to participate, our teams show up and deliver.”
Through initiatives like this, Swisslog Healthcare demonstrates that corporate responsibility extends beyond business operations to include active participation in addressing local challenges and supporting community resilience.
