Business Development Representative - Denver, CO

The Business Development Representative (BDR) researches, identifies, prospects and qualifies new sales leads within our existing customer base, and discovers and explores new Pharmacy Automation business opportunities to support the sales enterprise. This position will gain experience interacting with clients within the healthcare industry either in the facilities, operations or pharmacy teams.

The Business Development Rep is often the first point of contact with a potential new customer, and will need to be well versed in the Swisslog Healthcare portfolio in order to respond and develop the lead. This position is ideal for an individual who thrives on challenges, loves working in a team environment, and enjoys helping to continually build the department processes and procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your sales skills and business acumen, as Swisslog Healthcare will provide the tools and training to support future advancement to other sales roles of increasing responsibility if and when opportunities become available. To excel in this role you need to be an active listener, have the ability to collaborate with many different internal peers, and a hunger to chase and convert sales from inbound warm leads or outbound cold calls. Your collaboration

  • Collaborate with your Regional Sales Directors and Inside Sales Reps to ensure that all open opportunities in your region are fully qualified, and that you have researched all possible business solutions that might benefit each customer.
  • If there are opportunities greater than 6 months old with no activity, you need to re-engage, re-qualify and move along with the reps, or close the opportunity.
  • Ensure that any new leads that come in are being responded to same day or within 24 hours, and then following the 3/5/7 day follow up.
  • Must have the internal drive and self-discipline to prospect every day within our existing customer base, as well as cold call outside of our customer base.
    • Expectation is to make at least 30-40 outbound calls and/or emails a day.
    • Quantify the leads by the facilities budget timeline and department timeline for change.
    • Meet the minimum monthly target of 30 qualified and converted sales leads per month.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Directors & Inside Sales Reps to identify new targets to qualify and convert for them.
  • Leverage third-party databases and social networking sites to acquire new high level contacts to pursue for Pharmacy Automation opportunities.
  • Develop strategic approaches to engage with new prospects, current and past clients, using LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Salesforce CRM and other available third party sources of information to identify new business opportunities and develop prospect- and client-specific profile information.
  • Continually maintain a high degree of understanding of our solution offerings, and knowledge of market trends and key issues influencing business.
  • Participate in virtual or in-person trade shows, and be able to tailor Swisslog Healthcare messaging and create value to continue qualifying the lead. 
  • Utilize our CRM tool to notate everything valuable about the prospective sales lead, adding valuable new data and ensuring that the contact information is correct and notes are updated. This includes notating competitor data.
  • Research hospital facility RFP sites to ensure that we are on the most up-to-date sites to receive new bid opportunities for both Construction and Pharmacy.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as their liaison to the Region Sales Director and/or Inside Sales Rep, and keeping up to date with the status of each proposal.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to communicate what collateral you need in order to quickly and efficiently follow up with potential leads post- trade show.
  • Collaborate with our Sales Enablement consultants to give presentations to prospective leads in order to further qualify them.
  • Prepare and manage all prospecting lists, and accurately track customer interactions and information within Salesforce.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Your competence

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience with prospecting calls.
  • Associate or bachelor degree; or equivalent experience.
  • Outbound client contact skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience in both SAP and SalesForce.com strongly preferred; or equivalent CRM experience.
  • Ability to utilize internet search and reporting functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Experience being held to metrics/KPIs.
Desirable, but not Essential:
  • Presentation production experience.
  • Small-event management experience.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant work experience is more important.
  • Salesforce.com or other CRM experience.

Compensation:  Base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $71,000, plus incentive earnings. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
