Design Drafter - Schaumburg, IL

Swisslog Healthcare has an opportunity for a sophisticated two dimensional (2D) and/or three dimensional (3D) CAD modeling in order to develop and produce high quality bid and shop drawing packages to be used for solicitation of installation bids and submission to our customers for review and approval. You will be responsible for the preparation of drawings to be done in accordance with established methods and standards relating to Swisslog Healthcare systems. Accuracy of drawings is critical to minimize change orders passed down due to drawing errors.

Your collaboration

  • Prepare and create high quality shop drawing/bid package drawing sets for all product lines for use by the project managers, pre-construction manager, and external parties.
  • Compile and complete as-built final set of drawings based on final field modifications.
  • Coordinate all activities with director, project managers, preconstruction manager, application engineers, sales, and others as required.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments to meet required deadlines
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Your competence

  • Associates degree in a technical drawings field or (2) years of equivalent work experience.
  • Autodesk MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Construction drawing preparation practices and procedures.

Desirable, but not Essential:
  • Navisworks (or equivalent clash detection software).
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Experience participating in mechanical coordination efforts for healthcare facility construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical drawings field
Compensation: $60,000, medical/dental/vision insurance; tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%)
