Product Owner - PTS Hardware

The transport automation (TA) hardware product owner defines, prioritizes, and manages the TransLogic and TranspoNet hardware backlog, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle. They collaborate with the director of product management and product managers to translate user needs into actionable development tasks, guiding the development team toward successful product launches. They ensure the company can sustainably manufacture and support released products. When this is no longer the case, they proactively prioritize sustaining engineering projects to revise, replace, and obsolete hardware assemblies and parts as needed.

Your collaboration

  • Proactively manage the lifecycle of release products
  • o  Ensure all assemblies, parts and service parts are properly dispositioned in the product lifecycle management software and enterprise resource planning systems
    o  Drive sustaining hardware prioritization decisions
    o  Drive end of life/end of support decisions
    o  Execute to and continually improve upon the company’s lifecycle management process
  • Serve as primary point of contact with engineering, SQA, manufacturing and logistics and customer care for hardware related issues
  • Serve as the hardware subject matter expert within the company
  • Collaborate with TransLogic and TranspoNet product managers on requirements preparation, clarification, and modification
  • Coordinate with the TransLogic and TranspoNet software product owners to ensure software releases reflect and support hardware line changes
  • Serve as the product team’s voice within the mechatronics and firmware development teams.
  • Partner with the mechatronics lead to determine key dates and deliverables.
  • Manage and maintain product development checklists for all hardware projects.
  • Drive acceptance, implementation, and verification of requirements with mechatronics and firmware teams.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Your competence

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related subject
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies
  • 4+ years of Product Owner or related experience
  • Strong focus on interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Customer first mind set
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Living in the Denver/Boulder area or willing to relocate
  • Able to work out of the Broomfield office at least 2 days/week
  • Understanding of or cross functional experience working with hardware developers, test engineering
  • Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, Windchill or other product lifecycle management software
  • Working knowledge of material handling systems or related field
Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
